BELLE CHASSE, La. - The final of four suspects in a post-Hurricane Isaac looting operation in Port Sulphur was arrested on Monday, according to the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Derek Wayne Fruge, 27, of Port Sulphur, turned himself in to Belle Chasse Lockup around 8 a.m.
He was charged with five counts of looting and one count of theft.
The lootings happened at homes on Milan and Caroline drives in Port Sulphur. Four homes were looted and one theft occurred, according to the sheriff's office.
Kaci Rene Prout, 22, of New Orleans, Billy Saunier, 29, of Port Sulphur, and Holden Michael Sylve, 19, of Belle Chasse, were arrested for the crimes.
“Property stolen during the lootings included a television, handgun, power and hand tools, jewelry, coins, and fishing rods and reels. Most of the stolen property was recovered during a search of Billy Saunier’s residence on September 2, 2012,” said office spokesman Eric Becnel.
