ST. BERNARD PARISH, La. - Thousands of Hurricane Katrina-ravaged and vacant Louisiana Land Trust lots will go on the market all at one time.
The St. Bernard Parish Housing, Redevelopment and Quality of Life Authority Commission voted Wednesday to place all 2,000 of the parish's decrepit lots for sale.
The plan has raised serious concerns among the parish administration.
They fear that placing 2,000 lots on the market at once could lead to haphazard development.
Instead, the administration recommends using a program that targets specific areas at a time.
