CHALMETTE, La. - A man who attempted to use a stolen ATM card on Dec. 11 has been connected to a vehicle burglary that occurred the night before in which the purse containing the card had been stolen, according to St. Bernard Sheriff-elect James Pohlmann.
The purse was stolen from a couple’s car in Chalmette the night of Dec. 10 while they had been out celebrating their marriage that had happened previously that day.
A man tried and failed to get money from a Capital One at 3 a.m. on Dec.11 using the card contained in the stolen purse.
Anyone who recognizes the man should call the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office at (504) 271-2501 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111 and they could be eligible for a reward if an arrest is made.
