ST. BERNARD PARISH, La. - Don't be alarmed by a loud siren in St. Bernard Parish on Wednesday.
It is part of a test of the parish's emergency system.
In case of an actual emergency, the system will be used to warn St. Bernard residents in the event of a tornado, a chemical spill or a train derailment.
The test will also include a radio broadcast on 1680 AM.
It will begin at 1 p.m. and will last for about 3 minutes.
