Power has to been restored to 70 percent of Jefferson Parish, according to Entergy, although as of 8 a.m., 61,000 are still without power.
“We’re certainly making progress in the rest of the area,” said Philip Allison, a spokesman for Entergy, but he also acknowledged the frustration of pace of returning power and those that are still with power.
“Plaquemines Parish, I think we have some issues with some flooding and accessibility,” said Allison, where 8,500 are still without power.
St. Bernard Parish is near 90 percent with power, according to Allison. The Entergy map showed 2,000 without power Monday morning.
Tangipahoa Parish has nearly 2,000 without power, and St. John has 5,800 still in the dark Monday morning. St. Charles Parish has nearly 3,000 still without power.
“As a whole, we certainly made some progress,” said Allison.
