LAPLACE, La. - The man who investigators said was responsible for an accident on I-10 that left 5 people dead early Friday morning was identified.
A spokesman for LSU confirmed Ryan Gibbs, 30, a graduate student at the university was behind the wheel of the vehicle that was driving the wrong way on the interstate and slammed into another car.
Gibbs and the four people in the other vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
State police are still waiting on dental records to positively identify Gibbs as the driver of the vehicle.
