Louisiana Lottery reports wrong winning numbers

Louisiana Lottery officials say the wrong numbers were broadcast during the "Pick 3" and "Pick 4" Saturday, March 12 drawings.

The show said the winning numbers for "Pick 3" were "1-1-1" and "2-2-2" for "Pick 4."

The actual winning numbers were 0-4-7 for "Pick 3" and 3-1-8-4 for "Pick 4."

According to the Louisiana Lottery Corporation, a technical problem caused them to release the wrong numbers and they are working to ensure it never happens again.

“While our rules clearly state the audited winning numbers are controlling in situations like this, the Lottery deeply regrets the error and the inconvenience it caused players who rely on the show to get the winning numbers,” said Lottery President Rose Hudson.

In a press statement released March 13, Louisiana Lottery explained that the lottery broadcast is produced locally by Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB) and provided to participating TV stations via satellite uplink.

After being verified by a legislative auditor and a Louisiana Lottery drawing official, the official drawing results were sent via fax to LPB and confirmed by telephone prior to the show, which is standard procedure.

Louisiana Lottery said the numbers were correctly posted on the Lottery’s website, but players who rely on TV to check their "Pick 3" and "Pick 4" tickets should recheck their tickets.
