NEW ORLEANS – A motorcyclist fell to his death after being ejected from the bike while driving on an elevated ramp, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
The accident occurred around 1 p.m. Sunday on the US 90B on ramp at Howard Avenue.
A 56-year-old Lockport man was traveling on a dark colored 2006 Harley Davidson when he lost control of the motorcycle and struck the concrete guard rail, according to the NOPD.
He was thrown from the bike over the guard rail and fell off the ramp to hit the ground on Howard Avenue, police said.
The man was the only person on the motorcycle and died at the scene, police said.
Blood and alcohol tests are pending, and the coroner planned to conduct an autopsy to determine an exact cause of death.
