Mumps case confirmed at Dover School District

DOVER, Ark. (KTHV) - The Arkansas Department of Health has confirmed an individual at the Dover School District has mumps.

The River Valley Leader reported that parents were informed of the mumps outbreak on Wednesday, January 18. Just one day prior the ADH confirmed that a staff member in the Cabot School District had mumps.

There are currently 2,508 mumps cases being investigated by the Arkansas Department of Health. Among the cases, 1,486 of them have occurred in children between the ages of 5 and 17.

The Arkansas Department of Health requires an individual with confirmed mumps to stay out of school until five days after they are no longer showing symptoms.
