GOLETA, California (AP) — Sheriff's officials have identified a California gunman who went on a shooting rampage and left six left dead Friday night before killing himself.
Sheriff Bill Brown called it a "chaotic, rapidly unfolding convoluted incident" that involved multiple crime scenes.
Brown on Saturday identified the gunman as 22-year-old Elliot Rodger. He's the son of a Hollywood director.
Authorities say Rodger had three legally purchased pistols and 410 rounds of ammunition for them.
