WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — The confessed killer of a Kansas abortion provider says he has no more sympathy for the doctor's surviving family than he would for that of a hit man.
In his first public comments since his conviction for the murder of Dr. George Tiller, Scott Roeder reiterates that he has no regrets over the killing.
Iowa anti-abortion activist Dave Leach posted his 10-minute conversation with Roeder on YouTube Monday. He said Tuesday it was the first part of a planned series.
Roeder was convicted in January of first-degree murder for the May 31 shooting of Tiller at his Wichita church. He also was convicted of aggravated assault for threatening two ushers with a gun.
In the recording, Roeder says he killed Tiller to save the lives of unborn children.
