N.O. East Bank could see drops in water pressure Friday due to test

NEW ORLEANS - The Sewerage & Water Board reports that the entire East Bank could see changes in water pressure Friday morning due to test closure of a water line at the Carrollton Water Plant.

According to the S&WB, the closure will last from 1 a.m. to 11 a.m. and residents are asked to report changes in water pressure. You can contact the S&WB by calling 52-WATER.

“Should there be drops in water pressure, the controlled closure can be ended immediately,” a statement from the S&WB said.

The purpose of the closure is to prepare for the Water Hammer Project which includes installing piping on the 48” water main.

“The Water Hammer Project is a $50 million infrastructure investment that will make the City’s water supply more resilient and help prevent future boil water advisories,” the S&WB said.
