AMITE, La. (AP) — The Tangipahoa Parish school system appears to be headed toward changing its accounting firm.
The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/MkzHiHAMITE ) that of seven firms responding to a request for proposals, the board's current audit firm, Harris CPA of Baton Rouge, was not among those scoring highest.
Chief Financial Officer Bret Schnadelbach told the board's financial advisory committee this past week that the highest score went to Carr, Riggs & Ingram of Mandeville.
The Mandeville firm has been recommended by board staff.
Harris CPA has been the system's independent auditing firm since 1994.
