PONCHATOULA, La. (AP) — A pedestrian was killed in a late-night accident in Tangipahoa Parish.
Tangipahoa Sheriff Daniel Edwards said in a news release that the accident happened around 11:45 p.m. Thursday. The victim was identified as 52-year-old Rocco Van Berge of Tickfaw.
The victim was standing in the southbound lane of a Tangipahoa road when he was struck by a car.
The Tangipahoa Parish Coroner's Office pronounced him dead at the scene.
