MANDEVILLE, La. -- Two people have died in a head-on collision Tuesday involving multiple vehicles on the Northshore.

The crash happened just before 5 p.m. northbound on Hwy. 190, between the Hwy. 22 exit and the Fairway Drive exit.

Four vehicles were involved in the crash. One vehicle, driven by 54-year-old Gordon Johnson, reportedly side-swiped a car as he was driving in the southbound lanes of Hwy. 190. He then crossed the median into northbound traffic and continued driving for half a mile before hitting another vehicle.

Witnesses say Johnson's SUV missed a few cars before slamming head-on into a car and a truck.

Police say they pronounced Johnson dead on the scene. Officials say the crash also claimed the life of 63-year-old Corinne Talbert.

One person was taken to the hospital and another person was treated for their injuries on the scene. Both are said to have non-life threatening injuries.
