NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard says it rescued a pilot after he crashed an amphibious plane on the Northshore.

Officers say it happened just after 4 p.m. in the Joyce Wildlife Management Area, west of Interstate 55 in Tangipahoa Parish.

The Coast Guard sent a helicopter with rescue divers to pick up the pilot, who was not hurt, and the plane was not badly damaged.

Still no word on what caused the crash.
