COVINGTON, La. – Crimestoppers is hoping an increased, $5,000 reward will aid in the manhunt for escaped St. Tammany Parish inmate Carlos Rodriguez.
Rodriguez, 39, is still at-large. He’s charged with last summer’s murder of St. Tammany paramedic Mario Scramuzza in an alleged murder-for-hire scheme.
Rodriguez broke out of the St. Tammany Parish Jail in Covington late Saturday night. Sheriff Jack Strain said he escaped through the ceiling and climbed over a razor wire fence.
Rodriguez is believed to be hiding out somewhere in Jefferson Parish. So far, three men have been charged in connection to the escape.
If you see him, call Crimestoppers at 822-1111 or 1-877-903-STOP. Callers should state it is an urgent call about the location of Rodriguez. Callers will remain anonymous.
