Deputies: Kentwood man stabs brother after family argument

KENTWOOD, La. - A 51-year-old Kentwood man was arrested on charges that he stabbed his brother several times following a family argument.

The incident occurred Friday, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office.

Richard Peter Ballard is charged with aggravated battery. The sheriff's office said deputies responded to a report of an argument on Simms Rd. between Richard Ballard and his 48-year-old brother, Kenneth.

Deputies said the argument became physical and Kenneth was hospitalized after being stabbed three times by his brother.

The victim is reported to be in stable condition with no life threatening injuries. Richard Peter Ballard Jr. was taken into custody without incident.

 

The suspect remains in the parish jail awaiting bond.
