SLIDELL, La. - One of Slidell's Most Wanted felons who escaped police by running through the marsh following a high-speed chase last week was arrested Monday night, according to police.
Prentiss Wallace, 29, had managed to elude police twice in one week, according to spokesman Daniel Seuzeneau.
Late Monday night, police received a Crimestoppers tip that Wallace was staying in a nearby motel. Police and St. Tammany Parish deputies surrounded his room and captured him without incident.
Wallace was jailed and is facing charges that include: resisting an officer by flight, aggravated flight from an officer, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a schedule II narcotic, following too closely, improper lane usage and failure to appear in court.
Slidell Police tried to make a traffic stop on Wallace and another man on Sept. 5, when the car sped off and led police on a chase that ended in New Orleans East. The two men abandoned the car and ran into the marsh where the alleged accomplice was captured by a K-9.
Wallace managed to escape until he was captured Monday night.
