ANGIE, La. -- An inmate who escaped from an Angie jail on Sunday has been captured by authorities.

Authorities from the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office confirmed that Patrick Martin had been caught Thursday morning.

Martin, 52, was at the Rayburn Correctional Center when he escaped Sunday afternoon. Martin fled while working at a horse barn. According to the warden, the barn is outside of the prison's secured area.

According to the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office, Martin was spotted Wednesday night in woods adjacent to Varnado. A perimeter was tightened to a small area on northeast quadrant of the main Varnado intersection.

Martin is serving a sentence for an armed robbery in Tangipahoa Parish.
