AMITE, La.- An escaped murder suspect has been found and is back in custody, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office.

Verdelle Anthony Moore was found at a private residence in Osyka, Mississippi where he was taken into custody without incident, according to a spokesperson.

Moore escaped from the parish jail Sunday night.

Moore was originally arrested on Feb. 4, and was awaiting a trial on charges relating to the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Sandra Butler, of Independence. He was facing first-degree murder charges in that case.

Moore is being transported to the Pike County, Miss. jail for processing.
