COVINGTON, La. – Police have arrested a 22-year-old man who they say is a suspect in two separate incidents where victims have been hit in the face with bottles.

Michael Menheim was arrested at about 8 p.m. Monday night after he had been sought for a March 7 incident in which a victim was struck with a bottle outside of a bar. The victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Police said they attempted to arrest Menheim on March 30, but he evaded capture and got away.

Police said it is the second such incident involving Menheim. They say he was arrested and jailed for an incident on Feb. 15 where a victim was hit in the face with a bottle.

Menheim is being held in the St. Tammany Parish Jail on a $50,000 bond.
