SLIDELL, La. - The suspect in a fatal shooting outside of a Slidell nightclub was arrested in a Biloxi casino hotel room, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheirff's Office.
On Thursday, deputies issued an arrest warrant for second degree murder for Dwight Travis Ambo, 22, of Slidell. Authorities believe that Ambo shot Sherman Deas around 2 a.m. Sunday, according to a release from Sheriff Jack Strain.
Deputies, with the help of Hancock County Sheriff's Office, Biloxi Police Department and the Imperial Palace Casino security staff, located Ambo and his girlfriend, Precious Thompson, 23, early Friday morning.
Ambo was booked into the Harrison County jail as a fugitive from St. Tammany Parish. Pending extradition, he will be transported to the St. Tammany Parish Jail and booked with one count of second degree murder.
Thompson was also apprehended and booked as a fugitive. Arrests warrants were obtained for her for one count of accessory to murder after the fact and one count of obstruction of justice.
Prior to locating Ambo, investigators found his car and phone at a New Orleans home. Officials gathered that he had connections in the New Orleans area as well as in the Biloxi and Gulfport areas of Mississippi.
