KENTWOOD, La. -- A McComb, Miss., man has died after a crash on Interstate 55 in Tangipahoa Parish.
The accident happened at about 7:40 p.m. on I-55 northbound near the Mississippi state line.
Bobby Ross, 59, was driving in the left lane "at a high rate of speed," according to Louisiana State Police, when he drifted left, entered the median, overturned several times and landed on its roof in a water-filled creek.
Troopers pronounced Ross dead on the scene.
Ross was not wearing a seat belt. A toxicology test is pending.
The exact cause of death won't be released until the autopsy is completed.
