SLIDELL- A Northshore couple is trying to show the country the "real" Louisiana when they appear on a national television show tomorrow night.

On Saturday, Amber and Larry Douglas will showcase their journey to find a new home on a show called "Buying the Bayou." The couple says they were more than happy to do the show to put a more realistic spin on life in south Louisiana.

Larry Douglas said, "We have both felt that Louisiana hasn't been portrayed very well nationally and we felt it was an opportunity for them to show how Louisiana really is, homes that are here, some of the businesses and really to just get some of that national perception changed."

The Douglas’ own the business "Xtreme Cleaners" which specializes in crime scene, meth lab and hoarding cleanups. Their episode, titled “Bayou Millionaire”, will air at 9 p.m. on Destination America, shown on the Discovery Channel.
