PONCHATOULA, La. – Several classrooms and offices at Ponchatoula High were burglarized overnight, according to the Tangipahoa Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff Daniel Edwards said that janitors reporting to work just after 5 a.m. discovered that numerous classrooms and office buildings had been broken in to and that several doors and windows were compromised to gain entry.
There were no details immediately on what items were missing, but students were directed away from the areas that were full of shattered glass and debris.
Detectives are still on site gathering and processing evidence, as well as documenting the items stolen.
Surveillance videos are being reviewed. Sheriff Edwards is asking anyone with knowledge of this morning’s incident to please contact Crime Stoppers at 800.554.5245. Sheriff Edwards is also offering an additional $500.00 reward for any information leading up to the identity and/or arrest of the suspect(s).
