HAMMOND, La. -- Hammond police have arrested the 66-year-old owner of a daycare center after child abuse allegations surfaced earlier this week.
Mary Jones owns Kadlyn's Academy on Old Covington Highway in Hammond.
According to the Hammond Police Department, police received on Monday complaints of a possible child abuse case at the academy.
Police investigated and found there was an "improper practice" going on at the daycare. They did not release specifics on what the practice was.
The state has revoked Kadlyn Academy's license.
Jones was booked in the Hammond jail and charged with cruelty of a juvenile. She was released on bond.
