PICAYUNE, Miss. -- Police arrested a 33-year-old man Wednesday after he allegedly held up a store on Highway 11, according to police.
Pearl River police assisted in arresting Christopher Moore for robbing the Tobacco Discount Store with a gun around 10:45 a.m., police said
"Picayune Police Officers were notified and attempted to stop Moore on Interstate 59 Southbound in Picayune. Moore continued fleeing into the Town of Pearl River where he exited the interstate and fled down a city street. Moore’s escape attempt stopped when he collided with a Pearl River resident as he was pulling into his driveway on Pine Street," Pearl River police said in a statement.
Moore was placed into custody after a short foot chase. He is facing charges of aggravated flight from a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and will be held for extradition to Mississippi for armed robbery.
Moore and the man he hit went to Ochsner Northshore Hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the collision.
