PONCHATOULA, La. - A 15-year-old student was removed from campus, arrested and taken to the Florida Parishes Detention Center after deputies found a gun at Ponchatoula High Wednesday morning, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff Daniel Edwards said the administration of the school was informed about a gun on campus and that the school immediately went on lockdown and a search was conducted by deputies.
After finding the weapon, the 15-year-old was taken to the detention center. Classes resumed as normal after the incident.
