DENHAM SPRINGS, La. – Six students at Live Oak High School have been arrested on terrorizing charges after law enforcement discovered a plot to damage the school that the suspects contend was all a joke.
Officers were assigned to the school Thursday after learning that the students were apparently planning to hurt students and harm the school.
Sheriff Jason Ard said that when the suspects were confronted with some of the investigation’s findings, they said it was all a joke.
Ard said that the "joke" impacted the well-being of the school and the sheriff’s office had to take it seriously.
The six students arrested included: 17-year-old Matthew Arnold; 18-year-old Aaron Crow, 17-year-old Hannah Girior and three juveniles ages 15, 15 and 16.
