SLIDELL, La. - The city council has agreed to match federal funding to renovate Slidell Heritage Park's marina.

Some of the renovations include new docking spaces and walkways for boaters so they can access the park and the Old Towne District.

The council also approved a new ordinance to raise the fees to reconnect and disconnect water meters.

The water meter fees only affect people who are delinquent on their bill.

The fee is currently $15. Starting September 1, it's going to cost $50.
