NEW ORLEANS -- The Slidell Police Department says a suspicious package found at a gas station doesn't pose a threat to the public.

The package, which police said is "nothing more than a bag of fertilizer," caused an evacuation of the Murphy USA gas station on Natchez Drive at about 10:30 a.m.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad assisted the Slidell Police Department in the case.
