SLIDELL, La. -- Police arrested four New Orleans teenagers that they say were burglarizing items in cars in a Slidell neighborhood.
Police said they found two stolen guns, stolen laptops, stolen purses, and a plethora of other stolen property -- all linked residents in nearby neighborhoods, police said.
Brandon Leblanc, 17, Larry Womack, 19, Rodrick Barnes, 19, and Brandon Dunns, 17, are facing 12 counts of simple burglary, theft of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm after being arrested last week.
The four were arrested, police said, after a homeowner on Dale Drive called police to report a couple of people he described as 'suspicious' walking down the street, one carrying a briefcase, in the early morning hours.
"When police arrived, they discovered an SUV fleeing the area," said Det. Daniel Seuzeneau, a spokesman for Slidell Police. "When police stopped the vehicle, it was apparent that something wasn’t right. Inside of the SUV were four teenagers who appeared extremely nervous. It didn’t take long for police to figure out that the four young men were burglarizing vehicles throughout the Slidell area."
