SLIDELL, La -- On July 18, Harley White, 54, was found guilty of sexual battery after a three day trial. The jury deliberated for three hours before returning with the guilty verdict.
White was arrested in November 2010 for sexually abusing a minor male victim. The victim’s friend informed his mother, who then let the victim’s mother know.
Judge William Knight will sentence White on September 20. Sexual battery of a victim under the age of thirteen is punishable by imprisonment for anywhere between 25 and 99 years.
“This conviction will keep this sex offender away from our kids for a long, long time,” says District Attorney Walter Reed.
