BOGALUSA, La. - One of Washington Parish's most wanted suspects was captured Thursday by a sheriff's office detective and members of the U.S. Marshal's Task Force.
According to the sheriff's office, Delrick Abrams, 41, was wanted for several sex crimes involving juveniles. A spokesman for the department said that Abrams had warrants against him for aggravated rape, oral sexual battery and sexual battery.
Recently the warrants had been issued and the spokesman said Abrams began calling and promising to turn himself in, however he didn't keep any appointments to surrender.
Detectives sought the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Service to aid in apprehending Abrams. Through the resources of their office, the arrest was made and Abrams was placed in the Washington Parish Jail. No bond has been set at this time.
“Mr. Abrams is now in jail where he belongs," said Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal. "The sexual exploitation of juveniles is an inexcusable offense and I am so pleased our detectives were able to conclude this investigation and make the arrest.”
