TANGIPAHOA, La. -- A trial date is set for a former Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's deputy accused of malfeasance in office.
Wednesday, a Tangipahoa Parish judge set Oct. 22 as the day Ryan Norrell will face the malfeasance charge.
Norrell was arrested in 2010 for allegedly beating a man he was booking into the jail.
Norrell was later fired from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office.
