COVINGTON, La. -- A pickup truck struck a school bus Wednesday north of Covington, but no serious injuries were reported.
The collision happened just before 9 a.m. on Horse Branch Road near the Penn Mill Lakes subdivision north of Covington.
St. Tammany Parish deputies say the bus was carrying four children. A Ford F-350, driven by Jose Correa, hit the bus at a high rate of speed while taking a 90-degree turn.
The bus driver, who hasn't been identified, was transported to the hospital, but his injuries don't seem to be life-threatening. None of the children required medical attention.
Correa was cited for careless operation of a motor vehicle.
