SLIDELL, La. - A 24-year-old man allegedly shot his brother and a man Wednesday, according to the Slidell Police Department.
Dondrique Lewis, 24, faces two counts of resisting an officer and failure to appear in court. Assistant Chief Kevin Foltz said the department plans to charge him later with the shootings.
Foltz said Lewis allegedly fired a gun out of a window around 9:25 a.m. in the 2900 block of Washington Avenue in Slidell. His 26-year-old brother, who hasn't been identified, was in the back yard of the home, and after hearing the shot he went to see where the noise was coming from, Foltz said.
At some point Lewis and his brother got into an argument, Foltz said, and as they crossed the street Lewis "shot his brother in the head." Foltz said investigators believe Lewis then went to 1122 Tupelo and shot a 36-year-old Slidell man in the torso inside of his home. Police later arrested Lewis in the 2900 block of Lincoln.
The 26-year-old brother is behing treated at University Hospital in New Orleans and was listed in critical condition. The 36-year-old man was listed in stable, but guarded condition.
Foltz said police are trying to determine a motive in this shooting.
