SLIDELL- If you've had something stolen or missing from your car or home since January and you live in the Slidell area, it could be in a pile of property recovered by a handful of law enforcement agencies when they arrested three Northshore men in connection with a rash of burglaries.
"A trend was developing with more vehicle burglaries than the norm," said St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain.
Detectives say the men targeted vehicles and houses that were left unlocked in dozens of subdivisions in and out of Slidell city limits.
"What we're doing is asking our citizens to help us help them by securing any valuables in their vehicles, locking their doors, locking their homes," said Slidell Police Chief Randy Smith.
Even though the suspects have been caught, authorities still have work to do and they need your help to figure who all the loot belongs to.
"We've been able to seize a great deal of property, return some already back to its owners and, now, working together to return this property and identify any other person who may have missing property," said Strain.
Yard equipment, electronics, jewelry and even guns were found in the suspects' homes and at pawn shops in the area. But authorities believe there's probably more still out there that was sold on the street.
