Power restored to over 2,000 in Kenner Thursday morning

8:20 a.m.: Power has been restored to all in the Kenner area, according to the Entergy outage map

Update 7:30 a.m.: Over 800 remain without power in the Kenner area Thursday morning. Earlier this morning, over 2,000 residents were in the dark. WWL-TV traffic reported that an audible transformer explosion was heard in the area and was likely the cause of the outage. 

KENNER, La. -- A power outage is impacting more than 2,000 residents in Kenner. Traffic lights are out along parts of Williams and Power boulevards.

Traffic lights are also reported out on Williams Blvd at W Esplanade Avenue.

Treat these intersections as four-way stops.

The cause of the outage is unclear at this time. Entergy New Orleans says a serviceman is working to determine the cause of the outage and that power will be restored as soon as possible.

The outage was reported around 6:10 a.m. Thursday, March 2.
