BILOXI, Miss. (AP) — Voters are headed to the polls to decide whether Patrick Collins or Scott DeLano will replace former Republican state Rep. Michael Janus in the Mississippi House of Representatives.
Polls are open Tuesday until 7 p.m. in the district, which includes parts of West Biloxi and East Gulfport. Candidates in special elections aren't identified by party affiliations on the ballot. As only two candidates qualified, there will not be a runoff.
DeLano, of Biloxi, is a real estate developer whose family is in the real estate business.
Collins, who ran against Janus in 2003 and 2007, lived in Biloxi when he was a teen, but now lives in Gulfport.
