JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Fox News analyst Angela McGlowan is expected to announce her candidacy for Congress when she makes five stops in north Mississippi's 1st District next week.

A flyer released by McGlowan says she will make appearances Monday in Oxford, Tuesday in Corinth, Wednesday in Tupelo, Thursday in Columbus and Friday in Hernando.

The Oxford native said recently that she would announce her candidacy this month when her Fox News contract expires. She would face state Sen. Alan Nunnelee of Tupelo and former Eupora Mayor Henry Ross in the June 1 Republican primary.

The 1st District seat has been held since mid-2008 by Democrat Travis Childers of Booneville.
