WASHINGTON -- The House of Representatives passed an amended version Tuesday of the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act.
The amendment, co-sponsored by Rep. Bill Cassidy, R-La., and Rep. Michael Grimm, R-NY, reinstates the flood insurance program's grandfathering provision.
It puts a cap on premium increases and reforms the process that FEMA uses to create flood maps.
The bill now goes to the Senate for a vote.
Jefferson Parish President John Young and Caitlin Berni, director of external affairs at GNO Inc., joined the Eyewitness News set to discuss the developing news.
