NEW ORLEANS — Errol T. George is Stacy Head’s choice to replace her as District B council member, her office announced Friday.
Head’s seat became vacant after she won the Councilmember-At-Large seat in a runoff with Cynthia Willard-Lewis this past Saturday.
She will recommend George for the interim position, but the full Council must consider his appointment at its May 3 meeting.
George, an urban and regional planner and business management consultant, will hold the seat until a permanent replacement is elected. He won’t be allowed to seek the seat in that election, which is expected to be scheduled for Nov. 6.
A native of New Orleans, George has worked in the U.S. Senate and the Louisiana legislature, according to Head’s office.
