Being a LOCAL and a film maker with a college degree in such I would like to see that locals are getting hired to work on all of these films being shot here. These big budget movies have come to town using our tax incentives and they are just not hiring locally. I've spoken to many people who are on these films and they have claimed to be from here but in all reality these are people who relocated to New Orleans from LA and NY in order to catch a break from the recent influx of shooting from the film industry and scoop up the jobs with their film credits while we here still are not getting the chance to get any credits. It's very unfair and something should be done about this! We are not given a chance. I believe that the residency of the people being hired should be looked at more carefully. I don't consider someone from NY living here for 1 year being local yet! Try your whole life and always being shot down for jobs because of your lack of experience!
