AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Gov. Rick Perry has appointed two new Texas A&M University System regents and reappointed a third board member.
Perry appointed lawyers Tony Buzbee of Friendswood and Charles Schwartz of Houston as new regents and reappointed regent Morris Foster. The terms for all three expire Feb. 1, 2019.
Buzbee is a graduate of Texas A&M who received his law degree from the University of Houston. Schwartz is a graduate of the University of Texas, where he also earned master's and law degrees. Schwartz also received a master of laws degree from Harvard University.
The appointments announced Friday must be confirmed by the state Senate.
