FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — State Sen. Wendy Davis plans to take advantage of early voting on nine proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution and will cast her ballot in Fort Worth.

The Democratic gubernatorial hopeful released a statement saying she will vote Monday morning.

Davis says she'll vote to cut taxes for veterans and military families and will cast her ballot to ensure that future generations of Texans have quality drinking water.

Early voting for the Nov. 5 election began Oct. 21 and runs through Friday.

Texans next year will choose a replacement for Republican Gov. Rick Perry, who is not seeking another term.
