The most-expensive single-family home ever listed publicly in the United States has just sold for $120 million.

Originally listed at $190 million, Copper Beach Farm in Greenwhich, Connecticut, sits atop 50 private acres with 4,000 feet of private frontage along the Long Island Sound and a pair of offshore islands-- not to even mention the 15,000-square-foot Victorian and French Renaissance-influenced mansion that graces the property.

Built in 1896, the home features elegant finishes such as hand-carved fireplaces, soaring ceilings adorned with intricate artwork and rich oak paneling.

Outside, the luxurious home has an 1800-foot cobblestone driveway, a 75-foot heated pool with pool house and dressing room, a spa, grassy knolls, formal gardens, an apple orchard, tennis court, stone carriage house with clock tower, and a shingled cottage with a water view, according to Realtor.com.
