In the back near the edit bays is the ENG room, which stands for electronic news gathering. It is the ENG operator's job to make sure that all the video and stories put into the show are there for the director and producer to pull during the newscast. The ENG operator also has to pull in video from all sorts of sources -- CNN, CBS, YouTube and more -- so that we can put it on air. He is also responsible for making sure the live video feed is good to go and for sending out stories to sister stations. Here, Bobby Bittman prepares for a newscast.
