City's best sno-balls
Sal's

Many argue what spot makes the sno-ball best in the metro area, but nobody does the volume that Sal's does. Bel said he can go through 1,300 pounds a day in ice from the tiny building on Metairie Road. All of it is hauled in, Bel, unlike other stands, doesn't make his own ice on the premise. Signature flavors like King Cake and Joker and Sock It To Me keep people coming in droves to the stand.
Bel said consistency, soft ice and homemade syrup with no preservatives are his essentials.
Open from the end of February until the end of October.
